Interleges Award 2011 Launched

Interleges Award 2011

Interleges, the international network of independent law firms, launched this year’s Annual Interleges Award (2011), in memory of Stephen Rayner, founding Chairman of Interleges.

The award, aimed at young students and trainees, focuses on one topic of importance in international commercial and business law.

This year’s winner will be invited to Paris for the closing dinner of the Interleges AGM.

Anti-Money Laundering Review

Badri and Salim El Meouchi Law Firm contributed to the International Bar Association’s 2011 Anti-Money Laundering Forum, cataloguing AML compliance requirements throughout the world.

World First Mobile Money Transfer Solution

Vodafone Qatar launched today a standard-setting global mobile money transfer solution, VMT (Vodafone Money Transfer). Initially launching in limited countries, but set to expand to many new destinations, the solution will include local transfers as well as payment options at select merchants.

Badri and Salim El Meouchi Law Firm advised Vodafone Qatar on the structuring of this transaction (this is the first time such a structure is used), and advised on the key agreements of this structure in Qatar. We also advised on the regulatory aspects of the transaction with regards to the Qatar Central Bank regulations.
