BSM Managing Partner holds a lecture at the University of Paris II (Pantheon – Assas)

Chadia El Meouchi, Managing Partner at Badri & Salim El Meouchi Law firm,  a guest professor for the LLM, recently gave a two week course at the University of Paris II (Pantheon – Assas) addressed to LLM students majoring in Arab Business Law in the following fields:  Islamic Corporate Governance, Islamic Banking & Finance, and Corporate & Tax Regime in the GCC.

As a leading lawyer in the field of Sharia’a-compliant banking and finance law, Chadia was honoured to be invited by the university to give this course on a yearly basis.

“It was a pleasure to meet the students – I was impressed by the number of students who attended the course, and by the intensity of their interest in this field. I think that these students made a clever choice in choosing to learn more about Sharia’a-compliant banking and finance, given that it is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the industry and will no doubt become more and more relevant in the coming years.” said Chadia about the experience.

BSM ranked as top law firm in Qatar for 2011 by Gulf Times

We are delighted to announce that Badri & Salim El Meouchi Law Firm has been ranked in band 3 among top Qatari law firms for the year 2011 by the leading English daily newspaper, the Gulf Times.

The Gulf times stated that our firm is “actively developing its profile in the Qatar Financial Centre, concentrating on M&A transactions in the banking and real estate sectors and also specializing in finance and hospitality“.

BSM worked with Royds LLP to co-head a management of law firms workshop

Badri & Salim El Meouchi Law Firm’s managing partner, Chadia El Meouchi, co-hosted a management of law firms workshop with UK Interleges member firm Royd LLP’s Stuart Wilkinson at this year’s Interleges Annual General Meeting.

Interleges is a leading international network of independent law firms, with a presence in over 25 countries and a network of correspondent law firms spanning over 100 countries.

Badri and Salim El Meouchi Law Firm has been a member of Interleges for over 15 years, and currently sits on the association’s Executive Committee.

BSM’s Managing Partner selected as judge of Injaz Company Business Program Competition in Qatar

The Managing Partner of Badri and Salim El Meouchi Law Firm, Chadia El Meouchi, was selected as judge of Injaz Company Business Program competition in Qatar at Carnegie Mellon University, alongside three other judges being: Alex Dodds – President of Exxon Mobil Qatar, Dr. Eiman Al Ansari – Head of National Development at Ras Gas, and Mansoor Al Khater – Executive Director of Strategy at Qtel.

It is always a pleasure for our firm to contribute to Injaz-Al Arab’s mission that promotes economic and life skills among youth in Arab countries. Chadia was most impressed by the skills and dedication displayed by the students in this year’s Company Program.

BSM continues its strong relationship with INJAZ, a regional NGO in Qatar

BSM has been highly involved with INJAZ -Qatar since 2008. INJAZ-Qatar, part of the Junior Achievement network, is an NGO that specialises on teaching secondary-school seniors economic and life skills, in order to better prepare them for making life choices at university or in the workplace.

Various members of the firm, notably, Chadia El Meouchi, Michel El Meouchi, Charbel Abou Charaf, Elias Matni and Marie-Anne Jabbour, volunteered for Injaz and contributed by teaching young Qatari students various courses relating to economics and personal development, aiming for success in life.
